1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO (3550)

This model from iRobot keeps standing out in all the rankings and continuously gets called the best Roomba for hardwood floors and other surfaces. Even though it’s not the newest model, it remains very efficient and effective in cleaning while maintaining a very affordable price!

iRobot Roomba i3+ is equipped with the Imprint Link Technology, meaning that it can very well sync with the Brave jet m6 robot mop. With both of them on board, you can get the perfect sequence of vacuuming and mopping of your floors.

The thing worth noticing in Roomba i3+ are the Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes because other Roombas usually use a single bristle brush. The rubber brushes easily adjust to different floor types by flexing and they’re also better at avoiding getting tangled with pet hair (which is an added advantage for pet owners!). The cleaning process basically has three stages – loosening, lifting and suction, with the power-lifting suction power being ten times stronger in comparison to the Roomba 600 series. These features combined provide the user with a very solid and strong cleaning experience.

The Roomba i3+ doesn’t disappoint when it comes to all the Smart technologies that everyone loves about iRobot. Thanks to the Imprint Smart Mapping, it learns when and where to clean and what are your cleaning habits. This technology also allows the user to choose which room the Roomba is supposed to clean. This command can be given in the moment or you could even schedule it beforehand. The way of controlling the Roomba i3+ is pretty consistent with the iRobot usual technology. This model can be controlled with voice command and is compatible with Google Assistant, Alexa and, of course, the iRobot mobile app.

After some time of using the Roomba i3+ in your house, it will learn your cleaning habits and offer you its own extra cleaning suggestions. What could be the reason for that? Things like shedding or pollen season. On top of that, this robot vacuum can detect which areas are the dirtiest and increase the cleaning in them!

The cleaning process itself is also performed in an intelligent way – the vacuum cleaner goes back and forth in straight lines, navigates around furniture and avoids staircases and falls. It automatically goes back to the charging point when needed and resumes vacuuming in the same spot after being charged. Finally, the Roomba i3+ is equipped with the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal which allows it to empty itself into an enclosed bag (that holds up to 60 days of cleaning). The dirt bag captures 99% of dust particles that are as small as 0.7 microns.

2. iRobot Roomba i3 EVO (3150)

The Roomba i3 is a cheaper version of the Roomba i3+. It’s still a very good roomba for carpet and hardwood. The main difference between these two models is that the iRobot Roomba i3 doesn’t have a self-empty dust bin, while the iRobot Roomba i3+ has. Other than that, the machines are practically identical. Both have Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes, an Edge-Sweeping Brush and an Auto-Adjust Cleaning Head.

Most importantly, the Roomba i3 is also compatible with the Braava jet m6 which makes it possible to combine both vacuuming and mopping of the floors. Other features overlap as well. The cleaning process also consists of three stages and is performed in neat straight lines, back and forth. To avoid getting stuck under furniture, the machine has integrated sensors.

Roomba i3 can create an Imprint Smart Map and be directed to a specific room to clean. It also detects the dirtier spots and areas of the apartment, thanks to the Dirt Detect Technology. It can be controlled with voice command, through both Google Assistant and Alexa. It’s also compatible with the iRobot Home App.

3. iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550)

Next up, we’ve got the Roomba i7+. A bit more expensive model, that’s able to sync with the Braava jet m6 and with that vacuum and mop together. This roomba for hardwood floors can also work well on carpets and even with pet hair (thanks to the Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes).

With the higher price, comes an even more intelligent robot that can tailor the cleaning process to your needs and preferences. Not only can you decide which room the Roomba should clean but even a smaller area. This means you can make Keep Out Zones which the robot will avoid. This will work great for places with pet bowls or play areas that shouldn’t be disturbed.

The technology responsible for creating the Smart Map and the whole navigation process in the Roomba i7+ is called the vSLAM. It allows the robot to learn your home and eventually navigate exactly to where the messes are. It can be controlled with voice command, using either Google Assistant, Alexa or the personalized iRobot Home App.

Roomba i7+ comes with the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal which allows it to empty itself for up to 60 days of regular cleaning. Thanks to the High-Efficiency Filter that can trap up to 99% of cat and dog dander allergens, it is a good option for pet owners.

4. iRobot Roomba i4+ EVO (4552)

The iRobot Roomba i4+ lands between the i7+ and i3+ with its performance and pricing. Just like the Roomba i3+ EVO it’s a good hard floor Roomba with the classic iRobot’s Smart technologies. It can easily sync with the Braava jet m6 so you can vacuum and mop your apartment/house at the same time in a perfect harmony.

Roomba i4+ learns your home and creates a smart map of it. Just like with the i3+ and i7+ models, you can choose a specific room for it to clean, it creates favorite cleaning routines, comes up with its own extra cleaning suggestions and can be controlled with voice command through the use of Google Assistant or Alexa. The one thing that it lacks, in comparison to the Roomba i7+, is that inability to choose a small area to clean or avoid.

It’s worth pointing out that the Roomba i4+ has a 20% larger battery (compared to the Roomba i3/i3+) which gives it an extended runtime. When it does need to be recharged, it will automatically go to the recharging docking station and then resume cleaning right where it left so there’s no risk of an incomplete clean.

The other features of this model line up with the ones previously mentioned. It has a three-stage cleaning process, Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes and the patented Dirt Detect Technology.

5. iRobot Roomba s9+ (9550)

If you don’t want to create a vacuuming+mopping duet by yourself and you’re looking for the freshest Roomba out there, this bundle is a great option for you. The Roomba s9+ and Braava jet m6 create a perfect cleaning team. Thanks to the cutting-edge vSLAM navigation (gathering over 230,400 data points per second!), they create an intelligent map of your home and with the Imprint Link Technology, they follow each other in the perfect sequence.

The Roomba s9+ has the strongest suction power of all the listed vacuum cleaners. It has a 40 times stronger suction power than the Roomba 600 series which means that the 3-stage cleaning system can tackle even the deep-embedded dirt and stubborn debris. Another advantage is the PerfectEdge Technology that consists of a Corner Brush and an advanced set of sensors. This makes it easy for the Roomba s9+ to clean along the edges and in corners. And what about the Braava jet m6? It can handle even the sticky, greasy and unpleasant messes in your kitchen or other areas with the precision jet sprawy. It also has a specially designed maximized-edge design so it doesn’t miss any corner and can go along all of the wall edges.

The Smart technologies in the Roomba s9+ are even more advanced than in the Roomba s7+. Apart from the Imprint Smart Mapping, creating its own extra suggestions for cleaning, being able to clean a specific room or have a Keep Out Zone, this machine can also charge smartly. Smart Charge means it intelligently recharges for the amount of time that is needed to continue the current cleaning and have it finished as soon as it is possible.

Of course, as with other iRobot advanced products, this Roomba can be controlled with voice command, using Alexa, Google Assistant or the iRobot Home App. It is also equipped with advanced hardware meaning that it can potentially give access to future advancements!

How does the Braava jet m6 work?

After the Roomba does its vacuuming, it’s time for the iRobot’s smart mop robot, Braava m6, to start its magic. This robot uses pads (single use disposable or washable and reusable) and its own cleaning fluid for cleaning all hard surfaces. Apart from the wet sweep, this iRobot machine can also perform a quick dry sweep – useful as a sort of finishing touch after the Roomba’s cleaning process.

The technology that enables the Roomba and Braava robots to work so well together is called the Imprint Link Technology. What it does is it essentially lets the Braava jet smart mopping right after the Roomba vacuum has completed the vacuuming process. And with the help of the iRobot Home App (or Alexa or Google Assistant), you can also choose specifically what rooms you want the two machines to clean. The one thing worth noticing is that you cannot schedule a linked cleaning job.
